As members of the body of Christ, we are responsible for supporting each other. Those in leadership roles, which we often rely on, should know they can count on us to lift them in prayer. The mistakes and struggles of leaders have often caused scandals in the church.

Leaders in the church are not infallible. They are just as human as anyone else. They are faced with higher expectations and additional scrutiny. Additionally, they often carry the burden of the problems and challenges faced by their congregations. This is not an easy task.

Matthew 26:31

Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

The scripture above illustrates the key issue here. The enemy’s strategy will always be to target those in leadership positions. Jesus himself recognised this, as was said in Zechariah 13:7.
